I’m in the process of shopping for a couple cute little window boxes to place on a small shed in our backyard. They add so much to a barren window frame and this space is just crying out for them. One of the great things is that like planters, they can be 4 seasons.
This springy window box was from a store in the Backbay of Boston. The use of color was amazing, especially with the copper window box. The blue just looks terrific. I also love that they’ve incorporated bulbs, herbs, annuals, perennials and even a small shrub. It was very cool.
This is from my backyard and I sat it on a wall since it was too heavy! I went with strictly annuals but the colors were a hit. Very hot, very summery.
This is from the internet – no clue who to attribute it too (sorry). I love this – ver fallish (is that a word?) and it’s ridiculously easy. The small evergreens are still in their pots, magnolia leaves anchored in the pots and hydrangea heads popped in the front to cover the pots. So simple but so nice, and it will probably last for months.
And holiday – loads of greens, no ornamentation – just beautiful. Should last for ages too (except maybe issues with birds and berries).
This last group I swiped from containergardening.about.com. Awesome aren’t they?… I think in many ways this is one of the most enjoyable gardening seasons – you can dream of what can be.
