While on vacation I purchased an unusual (at least to my mind) vessel for cut flowers – the humble soup tureen.
I just found the time to fill it. To make all the bits and pieces stand up as I wanted, I used a small piece of chicken wire in the base as a ‘frog’. Then I filled with boxwood & purple spiderwort (a.k.a. wandering jew), sedum, verbena bonariensis, rudbeckia and perennial ageratum.
Normally I’m a standard glass vase kind of girl but I’ve been inspired by a talented blogger, Sharon Santoni, and her site My French Country Home. It’s a wonderful site, but her flower arrangements are especially lovely and she uses containers with a low profile – perfect for a dinner party. Totally inspired me!
Via French Country Home. Aren’t these amazing???
And I especially love this since the glass jars would allow you to use just about any vessel you wanted.
