A fast and easy dessert these past few weeks has been grilled white peaches. I can’t take credit for growing the actual peaches (thanks Mom), but I am the grill girl in this house. It’s a super simple way to use up the glut of peaches that arrive all at once.
Grilled White Peaches
- Store bought (or homemade) pound cake (1 slice per guest)
- Whipping Cream
Start your grill. I'm a charcoal fan for that great smokey flavor.
Rinse your peaches. Slice peaches in half and remove the stone. Remove any small spots on the outside of the peaches. Sprinkle the tops with a bit of sugar and place face down on your hot grill. Rotate in a minute or so for perfect grill marks, then flip and close the top of your grill to bake them a bit. You want them soft but not so cooked that they fall apart. Remove from the grill.
Whip your cream, add a bit of sugar and vanilla to taste.
Layer a piece of cake, two peach halves and a dollop of whipped cream
And that’s it. Super simple and not too sweet. Get out there this weekend, find some local peaches and get grilling!
You can find white peach trees here.
Thanks as always for stopping by and reading, and if you have any recipes on how to use up summers bounty I’d love to hear/try them!
