I’ve been out in the garden gathering seeds with all of you in mind…
It’s a Trio of Climbers GIVEAWAY! I’m including annual hyacinth beans, perennial sweet peas and my most favorite heirloom haricot vert…
The hyacinth beans are a fabulous climber and can cover an archway in a season. It will die with the frost so it’s a great plant for a quick fix. It also has the benefit of truly stunning, deep purple seed pods which looks great in flower arrangements.
The perennial sweet pea has all the charm of it’s annual brethren, but it produces flowers through the heat of summer. It can also climb several feet so it’s nice to use on a trellis of some sort. I have several growing up lamp posts in our pool garden.
The haricot vert is truly amazing and I’ve been saving the seed for several years. It’s a long, sweet, tender bean that tastes amazing when it’s itty-bitty, but it’s just as good when it’s larger.
