I haven’t done a Five Things Friday in a bit, but now that it feels like spring (even though it’s clearly not!) I’m feeling inspired and gardeny – and no one write in about my grammar – I declare that a word!
Frogger just emerged from the snow that was covering the pond and it’s nice to see him again! I feel like spring is here!
What also emerged from the ice and snow are my goldfish. These ladies and gents may be inexpensive and lowly when stacked against koi, but they’re tenacious! They’ve weathered raccoons, a blue heron and some serious ice this season. It also helps that I have an aerator and heater in their pool, but I’d like to think they could have handled it regardless. They’ve also reproduced so anyone out there in need of some fish give me a head’s up (seriously, there are too many little ones to count so just let me know!).
I can now think about where to place my new ‘beneficials hotel’ (thanks Cuz!)! Now that the snow is gone and the weather is warmer and I can trudge around, I need to scout a great place to install it. If anyone has put one of these up before and has placement suggestions I would love to hear!
My garden catalogs are all here and I’m ordering salad greens like crazy and I’m thrilled to be able to put them into an ancient salad bowl this summer that was gifted from my Mom. Love it!
And of course the girls! This is the crew I have left after the S.O.B. attacked them and killed their friends. I have some trail cam footage to share with you soon of the culprit (or culprits), but right now I’m happy to say this group is safe and happy and I feel like they’re truly secure at night. I’m not sure if I’m going to replace the four who we’re killed yet, I need to be sure they’ll be safe, but I hope I can in the near future.
Hope you enjoy your weekend!
